4-Day Banggai Islands Itinerary
Day 1 — Luwuk, Piala Waterfall & Crossing to Peleng Island
Your Banggai Islands journey begins in Luwuk, the main gateway for this itinerary.
After airport pickup, travel to Piala Waterfall, a tropical waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation. Depending on your arrival time and local conditions, there is time to enjoy the natural surroundings and cool off in the clear pools.
After visiting the waterfall, continue to the harbour for the public passenger boat to Salakan on Peleng Island.
The crossing takes approximately four hours, offering your first views of the wide waters and islands of the Banggai region.
Upon arrival in Salakan, transfer to your hotel and check in.
Overnight: Salakan
Day 2 — Paisu Pok & Peleng Island's Crystal-Clear Freshwater
After breakfast, travel by car from Salakan towards Luk Panenteng, one of the best-known natural areas on Peleng Island.
The main experience of the day is Paisu Pok, an exceptionally clear freshwater lake surrounded by tropical vegetation.
The remarkably transparent water makes Paisu Pok one of the signature natural attractions of the Banggai Islands. Enjoy time beside the lake for swimming, relaxing and experiencing the contrast between its calm freshwater environment and the surrounding tropical landscape.
Continue to Paisu Batango, another clear freshwater attraction in the area.
Unlike Paisu Pok, Paisu Batango is better experienced as a natural freshwater spring and bathing area among rocks and vegetation, giving the day a different kind of freshwater experience.
After exploring the two sites, return by car to Salakan.
Overnight: Salakan
Day 3 — Banggai Beaches & Islands by Private Speedboat
Today is the main Banggai Islands beach and island exploration day.
After breakfast, travel by car from Salakan towards Tobing, a local harbour on the eastern side of Peleng Island.
From Tobing, board your private chartered speedboat and begin exploring the surrounding coastline and islands.
Tanjung Gundul
The first stop is Tanjung Gundul, known for its distinctive rocky and limestone coastal formations.
The landscape provides a striking contrast to the white-sand beaches encountered later in the day.
Togong Putil
Continue by speedboat to Togong Putil, a small-island destination surrounded by clear tropical waters.
This is where the journey changes character — leaving the main island behind and experiencing the Banggai Islands from the water.
Pasir Panjang
Continue to Pasir Panjang, a long stretch of white sand bordered by clear tropical water.
Take time to swim, relax on the beach and enjoy the surrounding marine environment.
Oyama Beach
The next stop is Oyama Beach, another coastal destination known for fine white sand and clear water.
Enjoy time by the sea before returning by private speedboat to Tobing.
From Tobing, continue overland to Salakan.
Overnight: Salakan
Day 4 — Pompon, Mandel & Return to Luwuk
After breakfast, leave Salakan for a final day of coastal exploration.
The first destination is Pompon Beach, a broad white-sand beach with clear water and a natural coastal setting.
Continue to Mandel Beach, a quieter coastal destination where the landscape feels more peaceful and less developed.
After the beach visits, return to Salakan.
In the afternoon, board the public passenger boat for the approximately four-hour crossing back to Luwuk, with departure planned around the available local boat schedule.
Upon arrival in Luwuk, continue to the airport or your next accommodation.
End of the journey.
